“金箔是用黄金锤成的薄片。一克黄金可以打制成约0.5平方米的纯金箔，厚度为0.12um。南京金箔是中国传统手工技艺之一，发源于南京栖霞区龙潭花园一带，曾是明朝制作真金线的官营作坊。许多古建筑都运用了南京金箔，如故宫等。”南京金箔市级非遗传承人葛才金介绍，故宫博物院的雕梁画栋和皇室龙袍锦衣，甚至是金銮殿的龙椅，都与国家级非物质文化遗产——南京金箔密切相关。

Nanjing Gold Foil is a national intangible cultural heritage originated in the area of Longtan Garden in Qixia District of Nanjing。 One gram of gold can be made into about 0.5 square meter of pure gold foil with a thickness of 0.12um。 “In Chinese history， gold foil was often used to make costumes for the royal family。 It was also used in many ancient buildings in China。 More than 2.47 million pieces of gold foil have been used in the restoration of the Imperial Palace since 2002，” said Ge Caijin， municipal-level inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage。
